Happy Days Pre-School is a registered charity run by a committee of volunteer parents/guardians according to the terms of its constitution. The committee is elected by parents at the Pre-School’s Annual General Meeting and is responsible for ensuring that the Pre-School runs successfully in accordance with its aims. High quality staff
Our staff are highly experienced, with all staff members holding a relevant qualification in Early Years education. The Pre-School Manager is qualified to degree level in Early Years Care and Education. We are committed to continuing professional development and Happy Days significantly exceeds the standard set by Ofsted for staff qualifications.
Staff turnover at Happy Days is very low and provides security and continuity for the children in our care.
Happy Days provides a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and is registered to accommodate a maximum of 18 children at each session. We maintain a ratio of one adult to six children which exceeds the nationally recommended level for the age group.
Partnerships with parents
All parents and guardians of Happy Days’ children are members of the Pre-School and are very much encouraged to become involved in Pre-School life. Many parents support the Pre-School and their child’s education by participating in sessions, sharing their knowledge and skills, making suggestions for Pre-School improvements and contributing to decision making.
We have established good links with local primary schools, especially Ivy Lane and St Paul’s primary schools, along with other professionals, such as health visitors and a speech and language specialist, ensuring all children make good progress and have a smooth transition into school.
